Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress who works in television and film, is best known for films such as Rush and Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Alexandra was the sole child of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. at the age of 16she already obtained a few television appearances, such as the lead role in the movie Downfall Youth With No Youth Control. Her acclaimed and critically acclaimed performance in the film for television that she made Der Tunnel paved way for other notable roles including that of Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge. The role was in the commercially and critically popular Oscar nominated war-time drama film Downfall. Other Oscar nominees featuring the female diva include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra has been involved in numerous notable projects globally and nationally. The British biographical movie Control, the Greek film The Dust of Time, as well as the French history miniseries Napoleon are among those. In addition, she was an active member of the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
